ApplyWala (“we”, “us”) helps job seekers in India find and apply to jobs. This policy explains what personal data we process, why, and your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”).

1. Data we collect

• Account: mobile number or Google account email, name, profile photo (if you sign in with Google).
• Job profile: your CV and the details in it (work history, education, skills), salary expectations, preferred locations, notice period, links, and answers you save for application forms.
• Applications: jobs we matched for you, cover letters and answers we submitted, and the outcome of each application.
• Recruiter emails: replies sent to your ApplyWala address, which we store and forward to your own email.
• Device: a push-notification token and basic crash diagnostics.
• Payments: handled by Razorpay. We receive your subscription status, not your card or UPI details.

2. Why we use it (purpose limitation)

Only to provide the service you asked for: find matching jobs, prepare and send applications on your behalf to jobs that meet your settings, track replies and interviews, notify you, and bill your subscription. We use Anthropic’s Claude API to read your CV, score job matches and write cover letters. We never sell your data or use your CV for advertising.

3. Who receives it

• Employers you apply to receive your CV, cover letter and answers — only for jobs matching your settings, and only while Autopilot is on.
• Service providers that process data for us under contract: Google Firebase (hosting, database, storage, authentication, notifications), Postmark (email delivery), Anthropic (AI processing), Razorpay (payments). Job-listing providers are only searched — they don’t receive your data.

4. Security

CVs are stored encrypted at rest. Links to your CV expire after 10 minutes. Access to your data inside ApplyWala is limited to you and, for support, authorised staff.

5. How long we keep it

Until you delete your account. Form screenshots taken as proof of submission are deleted after 7 days. Backups roll off within 30 days of deletion.

6. Your rights

• Access & export: Settings → Export my data.
• Correction: edit your profile any time.
• Erasure: Settings → Delete account & data removes your profile, CV, applications, stored emails and statistics permanently. See how account deletion works.
• Withdraw consent: pause Autopilot or delete your account at any time. Applications already sent to employers can’t be recalled.
• Grievance redressal: contact our Grievance Officer below; you may also approach the Data Protection Board of India.

7. Children

ApplyWala is for users aged 18 and above.
